Christmas Scenery Around Town

When my wife and I lived in town, one of our favorite traditions, during the Christmas season, would be to go walk along the sidewalks in town to look at the decorations and the store that featured animatronic holiday figures that moved about and sang. It's best to see all of it during evening hours, all lit up.

This feature, plus the bonus of living so close to the river and taking the scenery of that were probably the only two things I liked about living in the downtown area. Well, that and being able to walk to the grocery store without having to drive. :)

Yes, that is a Christmas tree (above) sitting in the middle of a four way stop in the middle of the town's busiest area. It tends to create havoc when you're trying to drive around it while you're trying your darnedest to not crash into other cars or a fire hydrant but it sure is pretty to look at, at night. Heh heh.

The Panda & Penguin Band are getting down and shaking loose. They'll be signing autographs after the show.

The next two pictures are of the Tunnel of Lights. There's no need to drink or "whatever" to enjoy walking through the "Tunnel" to enhance the fun of the activity but you may do so if you wish. Just don't let the town cops see you smiling! They don't like that.

I hope all of you have a very Merry Christmas or Happy Kwanzaa this year. Ho! Ho! Ho!

Hi Kelly,
Very nice and pretty Christmassy type photographs.
I remember seeing a shop window with a lady sitting in a chair and smiling at me. She beckoned me over. Hang on, that was Amsterdam and had nothing to do with Christmas. Hoe hoe ho...
Cheers dude.

Hello Kelly. These pictures really enhance the atmosphere of impending festivities!
In Oxford Street (the two mile long shopping hub of central London) there are some fabulous windows but, usually, the best are at Harrods of Knightsbridge.

klahanie- Thanks, Gary. I froze my ass off taking those pics but thankfully, my wife had some duct tape in the truck and I was able to tape my butt cheeks back on. Hooray for duct tape. So did you give your shop window lady a bit of the ol' candy cane in Amsterdam. She wasn't a ho ho ho, was she???

I'm sorry. I thought I was on my other site for a minute. lol.

bazza- Hi bazza... Thanks for saying that. That's cool to know you have those types of windows there, as well. I'll have to click on that link and check it out. Happy holidays, dude!

Hi Kelly,

What a delightful promenade. I especially like the bakery scene. It reminds me of the happy little wee folk over at Klahanie's place. As for the panda and penguin band, my toes are hip hopping to the beat. "Frosty the Snowman" perhaps? Have a wonderful holiday Kelly. Maybe just one little smile in the light tunnel...how mad could a police guy get?

THE SNEE- I'm really glad you like the Christmas scenes. And yeah, I know what you mean regarding the bakery and Gary's Wee Folk. There are similarities. Somehow, I can easily see you dancing away to the Panda and Penguin's version of "Frosty The Snowman". lol. I would actually do my "crazy dance" in front of that window in the past and my wife would either laugh at me or dance with me or do both. Those were good times.

As far as the cops lettin' ya smile a bit in the light tunnel... Well, ya can take yer chances with that, I suppose. Heh heh. Merry Christmas to ya, lady!

P.S. I've got another batch of Christmas pics on the way.

What a nice way to spend an evening. I wish things were decorated around her like that ......all we to see are those god awful pink flamingos

MarytrMom- Yeah, it is nice. Pink flamingos? Nothing Christmassy about that. Maybe you could suggest to your town council members to put at least a couple wreaths up here and there about town.

Anyways, take care and Happy Holidays, MarytrMom. Hope all is peaceful for you and yours.
