Winter Wonderland Festival

Every other weekend during this time of year, one town in my area has what they call a "Winter Wonderland Festival".

Each festival will have different events, like skating or musicians coming to town to play and so on.

Last weekend, they had some pretty cool things going on. Huge tents were set up that housed booths where you could get hot chocolate, chili, home crafted Christmas wreaths and other holiday items. One booth featured ice sculpting. Yet another had a gifted glass blower who would create ornaments and holiday figures made of glass in front of you. You could ask for something specific to be made and he would do it.

Below, you'll find a few choice scenes of the festival that included reindeer, barrel train rides, a trolley and the town's Christmas tree.

Some English towns also have Winter Wonderland Festivals but they tend to be a bit 'arty'.
This looks like a lot more fun!

bazza- Arty, aye? Sounds like the kind they have in the big city of Cincinnati, nearby. I wish I could have stayed longer at this festival but it was way too cold. Tomorrow, for the first time in seven days, we're supposed to have ABOVE freezing temperatures... at last.

Hi Kelly,
Gotta' agree with bazza. That Winter Wonderland Festival looks like a lot more fun than the 'festive season' festivals, I've been to over here.
Great photos and you keep on getting out there and shooting pictures. Make sure you stay nice and warm.
All the best, Gary :-)

klahanie- Yeah, I've just started going to a couple of these festivals in the last few years and I'm surprised at all the fun, activities and and myriad of items they have for sale and for free at these festivals.

Thanks for the encouragement of photo shooting. I really enjoy it and it is a positive activity in itself.

Stay Warm, yourself, and Have a Good Christmas this year, my friend. I'll try to do the same. :)
